I have yet to have met a divorcing couple who doesn’t have fear. Fear of what?
“What will happen to me in the future?”
“What will happen to my children?”
“How can I afford to live on my own?”………..
The list goes on and on. One of the important things to me as a Professional Divorce Mediator is to make sure my clients are not making decisions from a place of fear. Although the divorce mediation process gives divorcing couples a chance to digest and take it slow together while being supported by a neutral third party, me the mediator, it’s important that they understand where the fear is coming from and how to control it.
Today I am posting my first video blog on my site, I hope to post many more. My first guest is Joanna Kleinman, LCSW of ExtraOrdinary Relationships. She does a beautiful job of explaining how we all can deal with fear and not let it control us, especially when going through a divorce.
I welcome your thoughts, comments and experiences.
