Roseann Vanella from Advanced Mediation Solutions is joined by Madeleine DiLeonardo Licensed Professional, Nationally Certified Counselor and Executive Director at Mind, Body & Soul Counseling and in today’s video they discuss Co-Parenting Schedules and how important it is to develop and follow a Parenting Plan that not only benefits the couple but most importantly the child(ren).

Many couples going through a divorce feel the need to develop a Parenting Time Schedule where simply put, each parent would have the child(ren) 50% of the time, not taking into account the child(ren)’s school and extra curricular activities. Through the process of mediation Roseann explains the benefit of formulating a Parenting Time Schedule that focuses on what is best for the child(ren) and has little to no interruptions to their already existing lives. From a therapeutic standpoint as a parent you are always looking to do what is best for your child(ren). In many cases when the parents plan to or are already in the process of separating, this would mean trying to shuffle the child(ren) around as little as possible, if not at all. By moving the child(ren) around frequently there is a potential of the them developing additional anxieties and stress.
